Sensodyne
unveils films that give Pakistan Reasons to Smile
KARACHI: Leading Pakistani
model and actress Sarwat Gilani hosted Sensodyne’s Reasons to Smile event at
Port Grand, a screening of a series of films to celebrate stories of Pakistanis
breaking barriers and spreading happiness in society.
The four films are based
on the lives of Imkaan Welfare Organization Director and founder of KHEL – an
escape created for children of Machar Colony – Tahera Hasan; Lahori Cultural
Club founder Adil Lahorei,; Khuzdar community’s girls’ education activist
Sumera Mehboob; and Meena Gabeena, CEO of NGO Meenay Laas, which works to
rehabilitate survivors of disasters and imparting basic education to children.
The screenings contained
an audience of guests including GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Pakistan
CEO and GM Sohail Ahmed Matin and various media personnel. They were treated to
the films which echoed the toothpaste brand’s mantra of creating a strong
emotional benefit by giving people the liberty of smiling and having fun
without worrying about sensitivity of the teeth.
Sohail Ahmed Matin while
sharing his thoughts on the campaign said “We are very proud of Sensodyne’s
campaign ‘Reasons to Smile’ We are also very honored to have Sarwat Gilani
onboard for this campaign as we truly believe she can spread the message of our
campaign to a wider audience and enable us to promote a positive image of
Pakistan. We hope through this initiative we can encourage people to recognize
and appreciate such efforts and thereby motivate many more to contribute to the
society”
The Reasons to Smile campaign, according to Sensodyne’s Senior Brand Manager Asad Ahmed, “highlights the outstanding work done by Pakistanis to not only create awareness regarding the great work being done in our society, but also to celebrate these individuals who have given us an opportunity to smile in such difficult times and be inspired.”
Explaining her affiliation
to the project, Sarwat Gilani said the brand’s campaign of recognizing selfless
acts of hardworking individuals inspired her, as it gelled in with her overall
objective as an actress who has an on screen presence. “These films gave me the
liberty to discover these stories, go on a journey with these people,
understand what they do, why they do it and how they do it and showcase them in
a way I had envisioned.”
